More Details / About Us

The Magnum Policy is cemented on the following:

  • It is the school’s mission to ensure a safe environment favourable to supervision and care for the children in which they can grow and develop. A class register will be kept on a daily basis to ensure the safety of the children.

  • We also strive to uphold a homely atmosphere at school.

  • A love and appreciation relationship along with a loyalty towards the school will be cultivated.

  • Respect and love for each other will be cultivated.

  • The child will learn to accept himself and his friends as well as to accept and obey the teachers.

  • Self-confidence is acquired by teaching the child to believe in himself and by giving him certain responsibilities.

  • The child learns how to behave in certain situations.

  • Above all we shall teach each child to love and have faith in God.

Parents must undertake to pay a registration fee when signing up, this includes the annually book fees. This will ensure a place in the school for the child, but is non-refundable should the parent decide not to place the child in the school. School fees are payable on a monthly basis over a 12-month period. These fees will include the following:

  • Two balanced meals per day

  • Educational shows

  • Music and Hip – Hop

  • Sport

  • Mental Maths

  • Art Classes

  • Movement and Gross development classes

Holiday Programme

We are open for one week during each holiday until November. The cost involved is R100 per child per week for 2019. There will be fun activities prepared by a teacher and all support staff. Two meals and snacks will be provided.

We offer the following extra mural activities:

  • Ballet
  • Swimming
  • Hip Hop
  • Cricket
  • Pottery
  • Music
  • Guitar Lessons
  • Art

The objective of these extra-mural activities is to stimulate children in areas outside of their compulsory activities in the education system. The high standard of activities offered is within the perimeter of the school grounds and hours.

Physical movement and co-ordination is an important part of our development. All children do movement, sport and ball skills during school time. Although we are a relatively small school, we do offer some extra-murals which are optional choices for children to do.

Our Mission & Vision

Education at Magnum Opus College will be rewarding and full of joy; filled with memories which you will not only treasure into the future but that it will also help to shape your child’s future years positively. We encourage the mutual friendship between parents and teachers as we will become families within the environment of Magnum Opus.

Our Principal

We intentionally chose the name Magnum Opus for this school as it defines a work of art. With that definition in mind our school aims to provide all students with an education which will enable students to develop independent thinking skills, the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, a positive attitude towards life and a thirst for knowledge.
